Gifts

Gifts
Which I've been given through no plan of mine
Perhaps even stumbled upon - though I know this not to be
Nor mere grand design can this plan be
Creator I say
He alone hath bestowed
These gifts upon me

Love
About which I knew so little
Still did I obtain
Thru blood and death and grace
And only by His mercy

Solace
Though solitary I first did seek
Alas in union Holy I did find
Or to speak the truth - did find me

Offspring
About whom I can only desperately and in vain
Summon words to accompany my heart
Overcome in its grateful broken melody

Why such grace I know not
Nor fit am I to fathom
But grace it must surely be
Of a nature not shallow as mine

No
Deeper
Deeper still
 current swift and strong
Supernatural its power
Boundless its breadth
Eternal its presence
Divine its Holy depth
